After protests by students, VTU decides to postpone ‘even’ semester exams

Two days after several Visvesvaraya Technological University students staged a protest demanding that the university postpone the ‘even’ semester exams until the re-evaluation results of the ‘odd’ semester exams were announced, the university has accepted their demand and decided to postpone the examinations.

Scores of students had received their ‘odd’ semester marks only in May and many of them said that they had not yet received revaluation results for the said exams.

The university Vice-Chancellor Karisidappa on Thursday said that the revaluation results of seventh and eighth semester would be announced on June 2, while the revaluation for remaining semester would be announced by June 11.

The final year B.E. examination, which was scheduled to start from June 5, has been rescheduled to June 12. Lower semester exam will commence from June 23. All exams including UG and PG, theory, project, viva-voce, practical will be completed by July 31. Detailed exam time-table will be announced on June 3, said a press note from the university.
